Why does the MetO, as it has for some time, show no observations for Scilly, whilst other sites quite happily show it.
E.g. https://www.xcweather.co.uk/ The observations seem quite reasonable to me, they've certainly been more questionable at times. Fantastic weather for a swim today at 14:00. Around 22C, high humidity, the earlier F2-3 ESE wind died and became a very gentle (F1-2) WNW, as it often does during the afternoon in these type of conditions. A very local effect associated with the later warming of the north coast (at least that's my theory). A pool of warm water off the Battery Rocks recorded as 21C!! The highest this year. Quite a swell though, a bit of timing required going up and down the steps into the sea. SST 17C out at the Penzance buoy, so a rather fortuitous warm pool where the sun warmed surface water had piles up between the prom & the Jubilee pool.. Graham Penzance |
