Default Good weather on Scilly for World Gigs

Pleasant sunny spells on Scilly so far today, with temperature now around 16C, http://www.weatherlink.com/user/tape...main&headers=1 much better than many parts of Devon & Cornwall which have cloud (It looks particularly cold over Devon & E Cornwall). The gap in the cloud over Scilly shows up well on the satellite images http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/satpics/latest_uk_vis.html .

Also fairly light winds.

(OT) 140 gigs this year, which is a huge logistical problem for the Isles of Scilly Steamship Co. Also if you say 10 people associated with each gig, that's 1,500 before any before any 'normal' tourists arrive. The total resident population is 2,100. So many are camping and will be very grateful for the benign weather.

Brightening up in Penzance after a cool cloudy morning, now 13C and rising slowly.

Mainly sunny since 14:00, temperature currently (16:30) 14.8C, recently up to 15C even at Land's End. St Martin's hit 18C! in prolonged sunshine, though it is in a warm sandy spot.
