Hmm, well... it does seem slightly hotter than yesterday, but I'd
have thought 32°C or so would be nearer the mark.

I will. This is getting ridiculous. The Met Office will become a
laughing stock among amateurs and no doubt some professionals too,
unless they do something about it soon. Needs to be struck off by the
General Medical Council, I say.

Philip Eden pointedly ignored the Barbourne reading in his 17:55
discussion on R5 Live of the day's maximum temperatures. 32C was, he
said, the highest of the day.

It was also ignored on the BBC forecast.
I think it was Cardiff with the max as you say, of 32C.
