There has been a lot of press about the record cold temperature recorded in Tasmania (Australia), in fact -14.2°C was the record at 'Liawenee', however, not to say it hasn't been cold for the time of year I have to question the headline.

The -14.2 C recorded at Liawenee is the coldest temperature recorded in Tasmania. Another site at Liawenee was open from 1985 to 2003 called Liawenee Comparison. The site number is 096065. The current site has recorded lower temperatures, the previous lowest was -12.2 C on 9th July 2013. The previous lowest temperature recorded in Tasmania was -13.0 C was on 30th June 1983 at Taraleah Village (95018), Butlers Gorge (96003) and Shannon HEC (96021)..
