For the last couple of days my console has been failing to store its
data on the logger. Has this happened to you, and if so, is there anything I can do to solve it. (Its not the console batteries, they are new) -- Paul Hyett, Cheltenham |

Do you simply need to replace the serial to usb adapter? https://shop.weatherstations.co.uk/s...ter-1764-p.asp -- George in Swanston, Edinburgh, 575'asl www.swanstonweather.co.uk |

Assuming it's a native USB logger (and not eg a serial logger with a
serial to USB adapter) then: If the cable damage is in the very short cable run to the mini-USB plug then I'm afraid either it's a DIY cable repair or a new logger. I think we do still have a few brand new but unboxed USB loggers availabe cheaply at: https://shop.weatherstations.co.uk/6...ger-1814-p.asp Or the WiFi Logger is a good modern alternative with some added features: https://shop.weatherstations.co.uk/w...-v2-1752-p.asp The latest Davis standard for loggers is the Weatherlink Live unit: https://shop.weatherstations.co.uk/d...0uk-1777-p.asp But note that this is not compatible with the traditional Weatherlink program and is usually used via uploads to the weatherlink.com platform. If the cable damage is in the longer cable section between logger mini-USB socket and PC then this is a standard USB cable that should be widely available from PC suppliers or eg Amazon, but important to get the size and gender right at the logger end. |

Alas, the damage is not there, but between the logger and the mini-USB port, right about where it goes into the console. -- Paul Hyett, Cheltenham |
