Met Office forecast with a sponsor's logo
https://twitter.com/i/status/1214199944715763714 Is this new? Not something I've noticed before. -- Norman Lynagh Tideswell, Derbyshire 303m a.s.l. https://peakdistrictweather.org twitter: @TideswellWeathr |

Porthleven seems to have gone out of fashion. Pity they chose such a dreary uninteresting image. At least pick a decent one, there are plenty to choose from! https://www.queens-hotel.com/blog/55...g-storm-diana/ The picture they chose shows a fairly calm sea for winter. Lovely & sunny here since 13:30, a very dramatic clearance from mist & drizzle. Graham Penzance |

This reminds me of an exchange with a senior former MO employee (formerly present here) while we were having a MO website grumble on ukweatherworld the other day. He said that improvement and development (of the website) would only come if sponsorship was available. It all seems to come down to commerce! This was in the context of discussing the UK climate information pages. Presumably someone has to decide which products are appropriate - it could be a lot worse than cough sweets. Where do you draw the line once the initial line has been crossed? Julian |

If I want a forecast with sponsorship I can watch ITV or some other TV channels. I expect straight science from the Met Office twitter feed. -- Norman Lynagh Tideswell, Derbyshire 303m a.s.l. https://peakdistrictweather.org twitter: @TideswellWeathr |
