Tideswell, Derbyshire - Tuesday 26th February 2019
--------------------------------------------------------

0630z CALM 30km SKC +00.3/-01.0 1033
RMK: A fine, clear morning with a slight hoar frost.
Overnight temperatures at 300m across the Peak District
have been 5-10° lower than predicted in yesterday
afternoon's Peak District forecast. The model does
seem to be really struggling with this low-level
inversion.

Down to 2.0C even in Penzance last night, with a ground frost, after a maximum of 14.5C with an onshore breeze yesterday. 17C at Bude again, the only low level north coast station.

Strange that the MetO includes reports from Bude in their warmest /coldest etc. places lists, but for "the past 24 hours in Bude" the use Cardinham, which is often a world away weatherwise.

1700z 16003kt 30km SKC 14.0/04.6 1031
RMK: A gorgeous summer day. Clear blue sky all day.
Max temp 17.8°. That's the highest February temperature
in my 11-year record. Ignoring yesterday, it's a
whopping 2.8° above the previous highest. With 9.0
hours of sunshine it's the sunniest February day that
I have recorded. I enjoy getting summer at this time
of year. It doesn't get too hot :-)
