0900z: 27022KT 6km Slight rain and drizzle 7ST010 7SC020 (/SC050) 10.4/9.2 QFF 996.0 steady.
SYNOP: 41456 82722 10104 20092 49960 57006 75865 885// 333 87710 87620= Another precipitation-filled 24 hours. Rain and drizzle started around 0930z Sunday and continued virtually unbroken until now. Largely slight or moderate, but some heavier bursts Sunday evening (peaking at 47 mm/hr at 2229z) which looked suspiciously like convective showers on the radar (not that you could see through the unbroken stratus), and again between 0330z-0400z and 0645z and 0800z. Unsurprisingly cloudy throughout the 24 hours, with extensive low stratus, but currently the low cloud is thinner with high-based stratocumulus visible through it. Moderate or poor visibility mostly, but good at first on Sunday morning. Surface winds have been westsouthwest to west, between F4 and F6. 02/0900z to 03/0900z: Max: 12.4 (1716z) Min: 10.2 (0828z) Rain: 20.0 mm -- Freddie Ystrad Rhondda 148m AMSL http://www.hosiene.co.uk/weather/ https://twitter.com/YstradRhonddaWx for hourly reports (very few tweets getting through currently) Stats for the month so far: https://www.hosiene.co.uk/weather/st...201812DEC.xlsx |
