Default Penzance 129mm in 7 days

In the event conditions on the sea front in Penzance weren't quite as bad yesterday evening as during the Tues & Thursday afternoon high tides. Yesterday conditions were very rough, but the actual swell was a bit less powerful than Thursday, and the wind veered & decreased a couple of hours before high tide. Clearly not the case in Dawlish.

Yet more very heavy rain/hail in the early hours. The 7 day total to 09:00 today 129.0mm. Since then a brief thunderstorm.

Nobody down here can accuse November of being uneventful weatherwise. With the wind now in the SW, Porthleven's the place for wave photos.

Not as much here Graham.
78.7 mm in first 10 days of November.
Should start the replenishment of the reservoirs.

My 30 yr average for November is 113 mm.

Monthly total here now 58 mm, so rather wet but nothing as soggy as your
end of the Peninsula, Graham.

My estimated average for November is 80 mm.

There has been a distinct pattern to the weather over the last few
months, this November seems to be following in the same manner. Given
the forecast a drier, calmer spell will soon be upon us.

Windy on Friday, recorded several gusts over 50 mph.

Hopefully we will soon get an increase in sunshine, only 28 hours so far.

Looking at this http://www.met.reading.ac.uk/~brugge/sumr.jpg there's a very wet line from the LLeyn peninsula, to Pembroke to west Cornwall.
(124mm, 156mm & 139mm now in Penzance). No more water shortage.

Mainly dry since dawn today though, with good sunny spells. Only about 20 hours of sun so far this month up at Bosullow.

A bit of Portugal for you
