In unbroken sunshine this afternoon the temperature reached 20.1C. I
suspect that will be the last +20C until next year. Nothing unusual in +20C, even in mid October. Last year the temperature reached 20.1C on the 25th (that is the latest date for +20C in my record). Note that we had a sea breeze spark up yesterday at 11:50. I suspect that is unusually late in the year. The last few sunny days have boosted the month's sunshine total to 91 hours. This brings the annual total so far to 1745 hours. Even if November & December turn out to have average sunshine, we could still make +2000 hours this year. That warms the cockles. -- Nick Gardner Otter Valley, Devon 20 m amsl http://www.ottervalleyweather.me.uk |
