Default Not tempestuous in this part of the south, at least not yet.

I suppose I should have written 'south-east' in my subject line (in

over the South West earlier today but I guess they were further up
the peninsula - and further inland - than Penzance.

I would have preferred a more maritime climate this summer than the
searing heat here and the 57 day drought, so some weather action is
overdue here.

Yes, I've appreciated the maritime climate of the tip of Cornwall.
Around 25C max (absolute max 26.5C) in the hot weather, still 20-22C
on recent days, so not the big swings you've had in the SE.

I'm very relieved that we chose this year, of all years, to spend most
of July in Iceland. I haven't appreciated the heat since we got back
but very pleased that this morning had a distinctly autumnal feel with
a min temp of 6.7°. The little bits of rain that we have had this week
have turned the countryside green again. We're gradually returning to
normal :-)
