Thanks for your replies, I was going to say it must be another TalkTalk issue: Sorry, the website ghrsst-pp.metoffice.com cannot be found. But I also couldn't get it to display at the school earlier today, so maybe another routing issue..? Keith (Southend) |

Keith (Southend) I get the slightly more specific error message "ghrsst-pp.metoffice.com’s server IP address could not be found" (using Chrome), so it's not a TalkTalk issue. A DNS issue, I should think. -- John Hall "Hegel was right when he said that we learn from history that man can never learn anything from history." George Bernard Shaw (1856-1950) |

If you try http://ghrsst-pp.metoffice.gov.uk/pa...monitor/ostia/ that should give you a starting point from which to discover the charts your original URLs pointed to. -- Freddie Ystrad Rhondda 148m AMSL http://www.hosiene.co.uk/weather/ https://twitter.com/YstradRhonddaWx for hourly reports (no wind measurement currently) |

Looks like replacing .com with .gov.uk works. They used to own metoffice.com - I wonder if they've got rid of it.... |

Possibly. metoffice.com still resolves internally, which is what caught me out earlier. -- Freddie Ystrad Rhondda 148m AMSL http://www.hosiene.co.uk/weather/ https://twitter.com/YstradRhonddaWx for hourly reports (no wind measurement currently) |

(17-18C) This is often the case after a period of rough seas. Sevenstones is just above 17C compared with 20C 4 or 5 days ago. (After a prolonged calm period the reverse is often the case, with the water particularly warm off Lands End.) I put this down to a lot of stirring in those areas, but I also suspect 'white water' reduces the recorded temperature. Graham Penzance |
