An interesting evening and night. Mostly dry till midnight, then occasional rain thereafter. Some heavy bursts - 15 mm/hr just after 0200z and 42 mm/hr around 0720z. In fact, the past hour has been equally and unsettled, with a gust of 40 knots around 0730z which tore washing off the line and lifted my loft hatch! It appears the main cold front came through at the same time as the first batch of heavy rain - between 0200z and 0300z - and we are now experiencing airmass showers and/or troughs. Daily rainfall total is now at 10.6 mm, but this is likely to be dwarfed by the rain event tonight and tomorrow. Currently it is relatively calm, with a F3 southwesterly breeze, good visibility, and dry.
