Brief shower around 07:00, then a real downpour at 08:30. Total of 4.3mm. Not a lot, but still makes the period to 09:00 the wettest since May. Temperature 17-18C in the downpour, after an overnight minimum of 16.3C.
Looking at the radar just a few light showery bursts before the clearance, which has already reached Scilly http://www.scillyman.co.uk/Lowertown_Cam.html A swell has arrived, though currently very messy & pretty unusable. Should be still be a reasonable size & clean by Weds. It's a long time since Sennen looked like this https://www.atlanticcottageholidays....m-sennen-cove/ Fresh fresh NW blast just behind the rain. Still, a couple of hours and the sun will be back. Graham Penzance |

Showers 07:00-09:00, the brief NW blast mid late morning, then the wind fell near calm at Sennen this afternoon, the surf cleaned up & got bigger. Unbroken sunshine when I was on there from 12:00 - 14:30, pretty lucky going by the satellite imagery. With the lack of breeze & strong sun it felt hotter than the 21C or so it actually was. (20C at the cliff top Lands End airport, certainly a degree or so warmer down on the beach). Was that all the rain for the week? Looks very much that way. Broccoli planting time, so the need for sprinklers won't do much for the reservoir levels. Graham Penzance |

Nothing in my rain gauge. The drought goes on. Len Wembury, SW Devon |

The CF was so weak and fragmented it didn't even manage to blot out all the blue. No drop in temperature as the CF went through but ever since then the humidity has been going down and down. Now (19:00) 22C and a DP of 11C, the DP hasn't been that low for a while. Given a sea breeze tomorrow it'll be back up. Over 6 hours of sunshine so far. Soil moisture at 30 cm now at 60 cb in the garden. That's very dry for my sandy soil. -- Nick Gardner Otter Valley, Devon 20 m amsl http://www.ottervalleyweather.me.uk |

Was that all the rain for the week? Graham Penzance Well not quite. A couple of early showers gave 0.8mm. Dry & bright with sunny intervals now. Temperature currently just over 20C. Very little wind, a F1-2 WSW, dropping calm at times. Still some showers visible out to sea. Very surfy again this morning. Forecast to slowly decrease. https://magicseaweed.com/Live-Sennen-Webcam/65/ Graham Penzance |
