On Friday morning Northern Ireland announced the start of a hosepipe ban
to take effect later that day. At about the same time, Anglian Water sent out a general news release asking people to conserve water as much as they could. My next door neighbour spent over two hours that afternoon hosing her lawn. Further down the road, 3 other people were busy washing their cars with hoses, the first time I've ever seen any of them do that. Not too sure if I should say this, but three of those households are European immigrants, and one West Indian. Makes you wonder if any of their hearts are really in this country. jim, Northampton |
