A fairly narrow band of Cs moved moved north across Cornwall this morning. Some gusty winds just ahead of it, followed by a sharp drop in wind strength.
Shows up here http://www.landsendweather.info/ Some interesting variations in wind strength lately, associated with upper features. What there wasn't again yesterday was a proper sea breeze anywhere nearby. A moderate E wind in the morning fell near calm in the afternoon, allowing a max of 25-27C across much of west Cornwall. 25.4C here in Penzance where what wind there was in the afternoon tended onshore. 28C recorded at Bosullow, but with the lack of wind that may be a bit high. Lots of surfers living in hope at Sennen https://magicseaweed.com/Sennen-Surf-Report/4/ tempted by MagicSeaweed predicting the arrival of a 3-4' swell later. Graham Penzance |
