This afternoon I noticed smoke billowing across high ground to my north. Driving back from Llantrisant this evening I could see that it is a heath fire on the moors between Rhondda Fach and Rhondda Fawr valleys above the town of Trealaw. It looks to be quite small - about an eighth of a football pitch - but nevertheless is generating a fair bit of smoke that is descending into the upper end of the Rhondda Fawr valley, affecting Treherbert and possibly Treorchy.
