Best one for ages. Continuous thunder and lightning, lots of rain. Some flash flooding I'd think looking at the amount of water coming down the hill.

It's now eased off a bit, well the rain at least, theres still plenty of thunder and lightning. So I checked rainfall - 70 mm in 2 hrs (started at 1515 GMT).

The best or worse set of thunderstorms I’ve seen in a long time. It started off with heavy rain about 1530 with rumbley distant thunder. The thunderstorms gradually grew during the afternoon and early evening. Little breaks of about 10 mins between each thunderstorm, the worse was saved until last, from about 1755 until 1900 with four CGs with shotgun thunder. A great deal of CC’s which was very bright and low. Torrential rain most of the time. I turned off my computer and TV and unplugged the aerial and phone wires. Could there be some supercell storms about? Somewhere near Wolverhampton. --- This email has been checked for viruses by Avast antivirus software. https://www.avast.com/antivirus |
