Default Penzance Sea freezes along the prom! pic

The SST at the Penzance buoy is around 8C, with the onshore wind that must be the case close in. BUt the waves coming over the prom yesterday resulted in this.

The the water must have cooled to -2C in a very short space of time.

Impressive! If icing features on the shipping forecast (which seems to
have become rarer in recent decades), it's almost always for South-east
Iceland, but it seems that yesterday it might well have featured for
Plymouth.
