To put things into perspective, this one is from the A6024 over Holme Moss in Feb 1979 Now you are talking Norman. What a Winter, I've never seen so much snow. We had huge drifts, snow lying through all Jan and Feb well into March, even recorded snow lying in April & May that year. Easily goes down as the snowiest and one of the coldest Winters I've lived through, at least here! Graham |

Gtraham More than a few :-) I was living in Watford at the time. The winter seemed to go on forever. I recall that there was widespread snow right into the middle of March - or is my memory playing tricks?! -- Norman Lynagh Tideswell, Derbyshire 303m a.s.l. https://peakdistrictweather.org Twitter: @TideswellWeathr |

No your memory is not playing tricks Norman:) Now I'm semi retired I'm going to dig out all my old 1978-79 diaries and log that winter onto my website. It was one to remember! Graham |
