Default Coldest night and day of winter

Last night -13.3c and -4.7c max, at 2000 was already -9c, but should not be quite as cold tonight.

There has been a constant breeze throughout gusting to 40 kph and with DP around -15c, the saturated landscape is now bone dry. A bit of snow cover and no breeze and we might have been threatening the -20c mark.

Interestingly the larger lakes are pretty much ice free, which seems rather odd, so I can only put it down to the wind. The mountain rivers also have far less ice than last year, but they were much lower after a dry period, whereas this year the volume of water is very high and they are running very fast.
