Hi, Martin, local webcam http://www.durham.gov.uk/weathercame...ail&station=12 shows how the main routes are clear (atm!) and further up the dales:- https://www.cumbria.gov.uk/roads-tra...86Hartside.asp A lot more to come from this one, I think, with the North Sea effect really kicking in now. Unfortunately, this is a busy week for me and I need to travel quite a bit. Best wishes Ken |

Hi, Martin, local webcam http://www.durham.gov.uk/weathercame...ail&station=12 shows how the main routes are clear (atm!) That does look about the same as here. Interestingly Thirsk webcam shows that they have had hardly any snow - protected by the North York Moors. https://www.webcam-4insiders.com/en/...sk-weather.php and further up the dales:- https://www.cumbria.gov.uk/roads-tra...86Hartside.asp A lot more to come from this one, I think, with the North Sea effect really kicking in now. Unfortunately, this is a busy week for me and I need to travel quite a bit. Take care. The minor roads are treacherous at the moment. Our local roads look about the same as the A686 only narrower. Gritters and official snow ploughs are concentrating on keeping the main A roads clear. The odd farmer is ploughing with tractor attachments. Snow continues to fall although at this instant there is blue sky and sunshine too. It comes in waves with nice bits in between. Just been out to restock the logs while it had stopped snowing. Sun is warm. A few surprised daffodils that came out at the end of last week are now buried under thick snow. Last few years they were out a month earlier. -- Regards, Martin Brown |
