The cloud has not really come this far west, the last of the Sc seemed to break over the Lizard as it headed west towards Penzance. It did result in some small Cu development over the moors.
http://www.sunrecorder.net/googlemap...serial=1010 1 Still mainly sunny down in the Bay, and looks lovely out on Scilly http://www.scillyman.co.uk/Lowertown_Cam.html . As a result the temperature is back to 10C, which I wasn't really expecting.. We've lost yesterdays fresh northerly, so it feels rather warmer today. Overnight minimum of 3.6C DB on Spotlight a couple of days back said it was the early 80's since there was any heavy snow in Devon & Cornwall, so I sent him some pics of 1987, when there was 30cm of level snow behind Penzance (according to the MetO) & 3-4m drifts. There were also 2 consecutive ice days in Penzance, which didn't happen in 1963. The snow drifted in on an ESE wind off the Channel, in a situation not dissimilar to that the models keep trying to cling to in a week or sos time. All a bit too late in the year now for Cornwall I think. Graham Penzance |
