After the mildest January since 1900, the weather changed going into the early hours of 1 Feb, with a light snow cover in the morning.
Subsequently, apart from the 2 Feb, when there wasn't quite enough, there has been snow cover every day, initially fairly light, but nothing below 10cm since 6 Feb and mostly between 15 and 23cm's. It has snowed every day, with air frost every night. There have been two milder incursions with some spells of rain, which only reduced the snow cover for a time. Today sees the end of the spell and after light snow for much of the afternoon, it turned to rain this evening, but fortunately the temp just rose above 0 to avoid freezing rain. Mean Max 0.7 Mean Min -5.0 Mean -2.2 High Max 3.0 Low Max -3.8 High Min -1.1 Low Min -10.1 Rain 74.4mm |
