[OBS] Hyssington, Powys - Wed 7 Feb 2018
0730z: 29007KT 30km 1SC015 -1.8/-3.6 QFF 1022.1 rising.
SYNOP: 42480 12907 11018 21036 40221 53005 81500 333 81615= Light occasionally moderate snow continued on Tuesday until 1600z. Maximum depth was 2 cm, but there was plenty of sublimation (due to dry air) and eventually melting. Currently the snow cover is very patchy - around 20% - and less than a centimetre. Cloudy Tuesday afternoon, the cloud breaking during the evening. F3 westnorthwesterly breeze veered northerly 1600z, but backed westnorthwesterly after 2230z. Very good visibility this morning, with just a trace of stratocumulus to the north. Temperature rose above freezing around 1500z Tuesday to give a maximum of 0.9 (1600z), before falling back below freezing by 2030z. A penetrating frost overnight, with the ground frozen hard and some hoar frost deposits. SYNOP: 42484 12907 11014 21033 40225 52008 81501 333 81615= A fine morning with sunny periods. Excellent visibility and just a trace of cloud cover. 10% snow cover, less than a centimetre in depth. SYNOP: 42686 72605 10017 21015 40216 57014 8157/ 333 81630 87365= Sunny conditions lasted till 1300z then increasingly cloudy since. Medium layers appear to be quite thick. Excellent visibility. Ground still frozen hard in most places.
