It's not unusual for the day to be warmer than the night at this time of year, but the 24 hous to 09:00 is a fairly extreme example.
Minimum 1.7C , around 09:30 yesterday morning. Maximum 11.4C around 05:00 this morning. (Now back down to near 8C) It's very windy, yet again. Gusting 60mph on the Island at St Ives. Although we've had a number of very windy days this month, there hasn't been a particularly powerful sea. It's often been very rough, but mostly locally generated & low energy. If anything it's resulted in sand accumulating, washed up by the mushy mess of a swell. That might be set to change. Looking much more powerful from tomorrow, by Monday 20' & with a 16 sec period for Sennen. A proper wave. Graham Penzance |

Plenty of salt spray reducing the visibility https://www.atlanticcottageholidays....m-sennen-cove/ Graham |

Half a sun 5% chance of rain? I don't think so. Light rain/drizzle, mirky, dull & pretty miserable. Everything is saturated and dripping, even the winds made making no attempt to dry things, just driving the mizzle into every corner. Every nearby webcam shows the same, those that are out of the cloud that is. The rain radar looks equally pessimistic. Graham Penzance |
