SYNOP: 42984 11102 11001 21009 40294 52024 80002 333 81075=
Warm front through at 1200z Sunday, followed by a cold front at 2030z. Rain from around 0730z Sunday, moderate at times, turning to occasional slight drizzle after 1130z. Drizzle persisted to early Sunday evening. F3 SSWly veered WSW-W on the warm front and increased to F4, veering NNWly for a time behind the cold front, before backing Wly again by 2300z. Remained at F3-4 overnight, only dropping out after 0700z and allowing an air frost to form. Icy surfaces from 0600z, with the ground frozen hard by 0900z. Local lanes were lethal this morning, with the wet from Sunday's rain and drizzle falling on remaining frozen slush patches. Lying snow was around 3 cm at 50% covering Sunday morning, but rapidly melted during the day. Only the odd patch remains now where drifts were deepest - although there is still 4 cm of crusty snow remaining at the top end of the paddock 40 metres higher.. Light winds, very little cloud and excellent visibility are giving a fine morning so far - albeit cold and icy.

A fine day with long sunny periods - the sun is low enough in the sky to shine under the cirrus, which has mainly been in the north-western part of the sky. Visibility is still very good, but looking slightly hazier in the southern quadrant. Frost still persists on the ground, but roads and paths are now ice-free. About 50% of the snow cover persists at the top end of the paddock. Very light northeasterly drift.

here with a high of 5.4c
After a cold wet day yesterday with 7mm of rain it eventually turned milder
around 18.00 with a max of 8.4c.
Most of the snow cleared overnight just leaving some hard icy patches, which
I'm pleased so say have finally cleared today.
Hopefully no more white stuff until next month.
