The forecast rather suggested the afternoon would be better than the morning, itcertainly wasn't the case.
A cloudy morning, but the rain was patchy & light. This afternoon has seen some torrential bursts. Fairly brief, but if you got caught in one it was bad news. Some brief sunny intervals inbetween, but not many (totalled 8 minutes up at Bossullow, bit more in Penzance. The rain has been the notable feature. It has also become steadily windier as the day has progressed. At Lands End, a a 66mph gust around 17:00 during heavy rain. With overhead cables to west Cornwall, our power supply is now becoming iffy, as it does whenever it's gusting 60mph or so. Graham Penzance |
