---------------------------------------------------------------- 0630z 31005kt 10km -SHSN 7Cu007 -00.7/-01.2 1011 RMK: Moderate snow/hail showers started around 2030z yesterday evening and continued into the early hours. Further slight snow showers this morning. There's 8 cm of lying snow. It's sticky wet stuff so there's been no drifting at this level. -- Norman Lynagh Tideswell, Derbyshire 303m a.s.l. https://peakdistrictweather.org Twitter: @TideswellWeathr |

The cloud clearance has allowed the temp to fall a little and everything has suddenly become very icy. We had the snowplough along the road at 0800z but the layer of slush it left has now frozen making the road very hazardous. There's 8 cm of lying snow. I had the first snow-shovelling session of the season this morning. There's a lot of it! 09-09z: Tx 6.4 (0900z yesterday) Tn -1.2 (0900z today) RR 16.3 15-09z: Tg -1.6 (under snow) 00-24z Sun 0.9 -- Norman Lynagh Tideswell, Derbyshire 303m a.s.l. https://peakdistrictweather.org Twitter: @TideswellWeathr |

![]() Don't recall needing one this century - not even 2010 here! You made need it Sunday Dave. 2 cms of snow earlier today here, otherwise mostly fine with good sunny spells despite the continued snow warnings ![]() Heavy snow shower just passed through but didn't last long. All the snow showers coming through the Cheshire gap are just to the south west of us, Wolverhampton looks like it's had loads ![]() Still a good cover over 75% as it's been so cold. Can't see much more coming our way until Sunday and that's by no mean certain, despite the upgraded amber warning. Graham (Weston Coyney) |

The main shower stream was to SW of us all day. With a max temp of +0.9° there was hardly any thaw during the day. There's 7 cm of lying snow. All the main roads around here appear to be clear but Untreated roads that became slushy during the day are now covered in rutted ice as it's already freezing hard. -- Norman Lynagh Tideswell, Derbyshire 303m a.s.l. https://peakdistrictweather.org Twitter: @TideswellWeathr |
