So apart from the Channel Islands, it seems that nowhere reached even
11C. Winter is coming.

Nowhere official, much of the coast of Cornwall did though, St Ives for instance http://www.nci-stives.org/weather/Cu...antage_Pro.htm , The SST is still 13-14C.

Not quite 11C in Penzance where the wind was offshore - max here was 10.6C. The lowest max of the Autumn, and with the wind it certainly felt more like winter.

The offcial Scilly site is about as high & far from the sea as you can get on Scilly (which isn't far!)

St Martin's is probably a better guide to the lower spots where most people actually live. http://www.weatherlink.com/user/tape...mary&headers=1

I was surprised how wet Cardinham was yesterday, certainly far drier in the far SW. 1.1mm even on top of the moors at Bossulllow. Scilly's only had 8mm all month, which may not be anything special for Essex, but November is normally very wet down here, the wettest month of the year normally.

Graham
Penzance - beautiful day today.

Nearly there with 10.9C on Sunday.

Only slightly warmer today with 11.2C despite the prolonged sunshine.

Autumn colour just about at its best now and the best show for many a
year. The beeches, field maples, chestnuts and even the oaks are looking
amazing with their vibrant, golden leaves.

Leaves up here are long gone - amazing what difference just 150 miles makes. I agree about the excellent colours, though. Fantastic display from the second week of September until the third week of October.
