uk.sci.weather (UK Weather) (uk.sci.weather) For the discussion of daily weather events, chiefly affecting the UK and adjacent parts of Europe, both past and predicted. The discussion is open to all, but contributions on a practical scientific level are encouraged. |

For those that follow the models, are there any tentative signs that
remnants of the re-strengthening Hurricane Lee could affect the UK in eg 7-8 days' time? Seems to be a lot closer to the Azores now than many such storms, though admittedly the last forecast track seems to be more NW than NE. Or is it just likely to fizzle out in mid-Atlantic? |

Lee is quite small compared with Maria. It is not forecast to grow much and is not moving much in the next few days. ECMWF has it merging with Maria in a weeks time. The pair might well add to the moisture in the big mid-lat trough at that time to the west of UK. Len Wembury |
