Default Old Davis WMII wind speed down

I think I got the VP2 just in time as I notice that the wind speed has gone on the old WMII wind vain, direction still working. Looking at the old data, I could have been fluctuating for a few weeks. Is this something that is repairable? And what part would it need?

Btw it is spinning around up on the roof, so Irma hasn't taken it away :-)

In theory, yes - see http://www.lexingtonwx.com/anemometer/ ;

In practice, most users won't have the time/energy/repair skills to make it
worthwhile - it would be a labour of love. It's not cost-effective to do
commercially these days.
