My record warmest September night occured 6th 2004, the same day as my record September max. There was a minimum of 18.1, and a maximum of 27.0C.

"It had been a bit of a surfer's day today. The waves were large and robust and anyone who knew anything about what they were doing was out at North Rocks earlier in the tide. By the time high water came along toward the end of the afternoon the sea was a bit of a monster. It was banging up the cliffs at Nanjulian, Aire Point and even North Rocks was getting a bit of a pasting. Naturally there was a bit of a line up on the Harbour wall where the young had gathered for their thumping off the wall. They were joined by one less than young Welsh person who wanted to join in and be filmed doing it. I know this because we sold him the wetsuit he did it in. It seemed to have survived the fall quite well, although I could not vouch for the condition of the Welsh person."

Yesterday evening a certain BBC weather presenter said there wasn't much of a wave today, it would be bigger tomorrow because of the wind. Currently it's a good deal smaller, messy & set to get blown out.

It was the lack of wind, and a larger swell, that allowed the waves to build nicely yesterday.

There was no need to, he was just the messenger. The fact is the local BBC weather sea condition forecasts, like weather warnings, are (in my opinion) extremely poor for no good reason. It would be wrong to put all the blame on that days messenger. I often criticise the MetO, but normally avoid naming for that reason.

If I was being politically correct it was by avoiding mentioning the fact that 2 fisherman were drowned whilst fishing off rocks in north Cornwall that afternoon. They had checked the BBC forecast (I am led to believe), choppy smallish swell forecast so off they went. They were then caught by the arrival of the 1st big powerful fast moving sets of the large swell. If they'd looked at Magic Seaweed instead, they would have been forewarned of the rapidly deteriorating conditions during the afternoon.

Anyway, taking your advice to say something you have to say, I'm seriously ****ed off with you frequently replying to my posts simply to have a dig, if you don't like my style, don't ****ing read my posts!
