I know these are of limited statistical significance but they are always
interesting. The current record for April 9th is 23.9°C and with the mention on the forecast this morning of the possibility of 26°C, this looks almost certain to be beaten. -- Col Bolton, Lancashire 160m asl Snow videos: http://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3QvmL4UWBmHFMKWiwYm_gg |

Passive VP2 shield but a reasonable breeze through the shield at present. Also have an aspirated shield alongside, which is also online and currently 16.6C but this one is not publicly viewable I'm afraid, so can cross-check later. John Dann www.weatherstations.co.uk |

Looks like 25.5C was the max in the aspirated screen @1605, with 25.6C in
the passive screen. So, arguably you could round up to 26C as the nearest integer temp, though 78F would be a touch more accurate. |

Max 26.2 here in Hampstead. Non-standard exposure but at the right height and in the shade with a decent airflow so probably not far out. What a day. Can't recall anything so warm so early on at least in recent years.

According to the BBC news website, Cambridge reached 25.5°C. The MO twitter feed says that a number of places reached 25°C. So it looks like the date record has definitely gone. I'm off to the Cotswolds for a few days holiday tomorrow. It looks like temperatures will revert to average or even a touch below, but at least it should stay mainly dry. -- John Hall "One can certainly imagine the myriad of uses for a hand-held iguana maker" Hobbes (the tiger, not the philosopher!) |
