At the time of writing,25.1525z, the relative humidity here in the lee of the Scottish Highlands is only 36%. Isn't that the sort of RH you get in some deserts during the day?

Ian Bingham, Inchmarlo, Aberdeenshire. 80m asl. Updating my earlier post. Lowest value here was 27% just after Midday. Lower values in Cornwall, I see. -- George in Swanston, Edinburgh, 580'asl www.swanstonweather.co.uk |

Back in May 1964 (probably, or possibly '63) I recorded 10% RH at RAE Thurleigh (Bedford, 03558) with temp of 25C and dewpoint of -9C. -- Graham P Davis, Bracknell, Berks. Ian Bingham, Inchmarlo, Aberdeenshire. 80m asl. That is a very high figure for a hot desert during the day. With a temperature of 45°C it would imply a dew-point of about 27°C and be all but intolerably sweaty. A more likely RH would be a little less than half that. Tudor Hughes, Warlingham, Surrey. |
