Charts analysed are for T+96 hours - 12Z Friday 10th October 2003
unless stated.

Low pressure (990mb) lies over Northern Scandinavia, with a secondary
centre (995mb) close to the north of Scotland. High pressure (1025mb)
lies over the Bay of Biscay. Winds across the UK are moderate to fresh
west/northwesterlies, strongest in the north. Many parts will see a
mixture of sunshine and showers, with southern areas seeing the best
of the dry weather. Temperatures will be close to normal in many
parts, colder in the north for a time. Beyond this pressure builds
over the UK and settles close to Scandinavia over the weekend, so with
low pressure lying in the Atlantic, the UK lies under warmer
south/southeasterly winds with a good deal of fine weather for most
parts.

over Northern Ireland to +7C in the southeast. Forecast 2m

low pressure lying in the Atlantic, the UK lies under warmer
southerlies with a good deal of fair weather for most parts, with any
rain restricted to the west.

Low pressure (977mb) lies to the northwest of Scotland, whilst high
pressure (1028mb) lies to the west/southwest of the Bay of Biscay. The
UK lies under moderate to fresh westerly winds, strongest in the
north. Rain or showers are likely in the north, with the driest
weather always likely in the south. Temperatures will be close to
normal in most areas.

Summary:
Fairly good agreement tonight that high pressure will build to the
east/southeast of the UK over the weekend, turning the winds into a
warmer southerly quarter again with many parts turn mostly fine. Any
rain will be restricted to the far west and northwest.
