Hope you find this summary useful. Charts analysed are for T+96 hours - 12Z Friday 10th October 2003 unless stated. UKMetO: SLP: http://www.wetterzentrale.com/pics/Rukm961.html Low pressure (990mb) lies over Northern Scandinavia, with a secondary centre (995mb) close to the north of Scotland. High pressure (1025mb) lies over the Bay of Biscay. Winds across the UK are moderate to fresh west/northwesterlies, strongest in the north. Many parts will see a mixture of sunshine and showers, with southern areas seeing the best of the dry weather. Temperatures will be close to normal in many parts, colder in the north for a time. Beyond this pressure builds over the UK and settles close to Scandinavia over the weekend, so with low pressure lying in the Atlantic, the UK lies under warmer south/southeasterly winds with a good deal of fine weather for most parts. Temperatures will be close to normal in most areas. Summary: Fairly good agreement tonight that high pressure will build to the east/southeast of the UK over the weekend, turning the winds into a warmer southerly quarter again with many parts turn mostly fine. Any rain will be restricted to the far west and northwest. |
