Well what a difference a day makes! Yesterday - cold rain all day with
fog, this morning bright crisp sunshine, no wind, widespread hoar
frost, ice and T +0.2C at 08:50. A good to be alive day; when I pulled
back the curtains it felt so good to see it all white again glinting
in sunshine, although it was only last Friday that we had snow,
yesterday was so depressing.

Max. so far today +3.9C in warm sunshine. Now fallen back a bit to
+3.5C. Going to be a cold one tonight with clear skies all night instead
of just at the end. Roads are drying, so ice will be less of a problem,
but some of the moorland (untreated) lanes will remain wet through
seepage and high water tables. They will be like ice rinks. Must admit
it felt warmer than 3-4C which is what we had yesterday but the sun is
warm and I have just got back up from shopping in tropical Newton Abbot
where it was shirt sleeve weather in the sun at 7C. Did actually see a
man in shorts, and why not?!

Did you walk past any mirrors, perchance?

Ha ha. No, but I did spot a bearded, handsome, sun-tanned old geezer in a
shop window!
Down to -0.6C now. Really must close a few windows :-)

Perishing here too.
Approaching zero already at 1930 GMT.
This is not on.
How dare this Beast from the East come as far west as this?
Will we survive the night?

I saw a man in shorts too, when collecting my grandchildren from school.
He was a Dad, not a Grandpa like my good self.
I also suspect he was a postman.
They clearly have a screw loose.
