All of the snow below 500 metres has now melted today. Above 500 metres
there was still 50% cover of the now verified 8cm that fell on Friday, various remains of snowmen scattered around lower down. So, on our 12 mile walk today we coincidentally went to the highest point of southern England at 621m asl. Not nearly as bleak as I have seen it before with puddles and melting snow. Still enough snow to make snowballs though. Melting now still as it is raining and here in Haytor we have T +5.8C with 99% RH. Also the dreaded fog is returning with the thaw. Going to be interesting up here when that front stalls and later returns westwards. Glad you SE'erners had a little bit of snow last night, just boring Sc and 3-4C here :-) Will -- " Some sects believe that the world was created 5000 years ago. writes Glad you SE'erners had a little bit of snow last night, just boring Sc and 3-4C here :-) Thanks. Though we only had about a centimetre here in Cranleigh, it took most of the day for the last lingering traces to totally vanish. -- John Hall "Honest criticism is hard to take, particularly from a relative, a friend, an acquaintance, or a stranger."
