Just played back Sunday's forecast for the week ahead and already it is
well out for the S.E. No mention of last nights torrential rain - the heaviest and second highest for over a month. The fog had gone by yesterday as forecast but no mild 16-17C forecast with max of 13C. Showery rain was forecast for today and then the continental high was going to keep the rain at bay Thursday and Friday with most shown going up the western side of the Country. Not looking that way now with everything appearing two hundred miles further East. There was mention of doubt about the low pressure influence for this weekend though. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode...ahead-01112015 Dave, S.Essex |

Well done GFS modellers, credit where due. Will -- http://www.lyneside.demon.co.uk/Hayt...antage_Pro.htm Will Hand (Haytor, Devon, 1017 feet asl) --------------------------------------------- |

One of these winters I'll try and score the forecast of the GFS and ECMWF when they diverge to see who comes out "winner" - it would be of particular interest to see if there are any particular situations/Lamb weather types when one outscores the other (I suspect this might be already done internally at the Met Office). Richard As pointed out by Bruce in terms of Lamb Weather Types it will be interesting if November turns out like 1972, 1947, 1962 and 1946... Interest reserved for northern Scotland - I would imagine a brief cool spell mid-month down here. -- ------------------------------ This email was sent by a company owned by Pearson plc, registered office at 80 Strand, London WC2R 0RL. Never mind zo, ze wetter Gods have plans ya, for an eastern front cold blast that will freeze the carbon free balls of an alarmist monkey, no. When our glorious leader Merkel goes through ze French customs and they say to her 'Occupation' ? Frau Merkel will zay. "No I'm just here for ze climate conference, ya" Deutsch Sprung Diesel is sponsoring the German delegation. |

I don't think I have to do that. I already *am* a weather watcher, been doing it here for years! 'Your weather, your way' Cringe No thanks, sounds like they are advertising a supermarket. Oh, and the weather conditions on that map are very unlikely to ocurr simultaneouly. Yeah I know it's meant to be schematic but let's have a bit of realism if that is one of the graphics they will be portraying. -- Col Bolton, Lancashire 160m asl Snow videos: http://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3QvmL4UWBmHFMKWiwYm_gg |

I'm feeling thoroughly depressed tonight about the management of all this. -- ------------------------------ This email was sent by a company owned by Pearson plc, registered office at 80 Strand, London WC2R 0RL.
