A feature of late Spring early summer has been the number of warm sector westerlies which have seen a contrast in weather between the north & south coasts.
Sunny periods all along the south Cornwall coast this afternoon, with the temperature a humid (if temperature can be humid) 20C or so - currently 19.8C in Penzance. Even in the rather misty conditions near the north coast it's still around 17C. Now the sea's warming up none of the big temperature differences, over just 3 or 4 miles, that occurred in May. High UV in the rather misty conditions on Scilly - max of 8.7 I've just got back from a week on Scilly, wind never above a F4 & no rain, both of which are a 1st for me. The 1st few days saw flat sea conditions, the 1st real swell arrived on Thursday, quite a long swell on the boat over to St Agnes, my favourite Island. Graham Penzance |
