Windows 10 is still vapourware. Still I dare say the screen-savers will delight the flower people. |

Someone must have done some calculations/modelling to work out how many are needed for some particular purpose. I don't know much about this this. How are observing stations used - surely the weather is already here by the time UK observations are done? |

So yes, the weather does need to be here in order to be observed by the observers at the observing stations. Observations (with properly maintained equipment) are always accurate, forecasts seldom are. -- AS http://pictures.opcop.org.uk/new41.htm (updated) |

However, you did ask: "How are observing stations used - surely the weather is already here by the time UK observations are done?" I did answer: "Observing stations do what they say - they observe (and record) the weather which happens." (/That is how they are used/) "So yes, the weather does need to be here in order to be observed by the observers at the observing stations." (/To confirm surely the weather is already here/) Which part of that question did I fail to answer completely and in join the dots format? -- AS http://pictures.opcop.org.uk/new41.htm (updated) |
