1050 wind E, temp/dew 13.6/4.4, RH 54%
1055 wind SSW, temp/dew 13.7/-5.5, RH 26% Looking at the forecast soundings there was much drier air at 2000'. SSW winds here are turbulent as they descend the steep N face of the Pentlands. Presumably the change in wind direction was sufficient to drag dry air down and cause the rapid fall in RH. Another glorious day here with unbroken sunshine and Tmax 16.4. -- George in Swanston, Edinburgh, 575'asl www.eppingweather.co.uk www.winter1947.co.uk Davis VP2 |
