Default Wanstead rain

09z-09z total in my 5" gauge is 23.4mm - that's the highest December total since 2002 and the 9th highest December total for this immediate area since 1961 - . Philip Eden was quoted as saying the jetstream is at its strongest since February 1990

That's intersting, February 1990 is till my mildest February recorded (Records from 1977).

Certainly, does seem that in years with such a strong jet stream, mildness rules the roost.

Your figure is remarkably low compared with mine which was 63.6 mm, the third wettest day in my 30-yr record.

Two fence panels down and the part of the lawn (ha!) near the screen is still under water.
