Thicker cloud spread across after 0300z, and there has been some intermittent light rain since 0600z. 1200z: 19016G30KT 7km Light rain and drizzle 4ST008 (1AC120) 7CI250
9.5/8.1 QFF 1000.8 falling. SYNOP: 11357 71916 10095 20081 40008 58048 69901 75862 84642 333 84708 87075 90730 91134 91030= Mainly cloudy morning with the odd brighter interval when the low cloud breaks. Marked shelter effects, with the low cloud being largely well broken. Some AC len visible. No cloud visible capable of producing precipitation, so I guess the current rain and drizzle is being blown from afar! Frequent gusts into the low 30's (knots) in the past three hours. -- Freddie Castle Pulverbatch Shropshire 221m AMSL http://www.hosiene.co.uk/weather/ http://twitter.com/PulverbatchWx for hourly reports |

1500z: 18014G27KT 6km Light rain and drizzle 7ST008 8SC012 10.0/8.8 QFF
995.0 falling. SYNOP: 41356 81814 10100 20088 49950 57058 75865 885// 333 87708 88612 90730 91131 91027= A blustery afternoon with occasional light rain and drizzle. Frequent gusts to just under 30 knots. Upper layers of cloud started to increase after 1330z, and the lower cloud layers have filled in during the past hour. Quite gloomy now. Pressure falling quite quickly. Mild, with the top temperature so far today reaching 10.1 (1318z). -- Freddie Castle Pulverbatch Shropshire 221m AMSL http://www.hosiene.co.uk/weather/ http://twitter.com/PulverbatchWx for hourly reports |

1800z: 17018G34KT 3000m Moderate rain 6ST005 8ST010 10.2/9.0 QFF 987.0
falling. SYNOP: 11230 81718 10102 20090 49870 57080 60012 76365 887// 333 10102 86705 88710 90730 91137 91034= A very unsettled evening, with strong winds and rain that is bordering on heavy. Pressure is still falling like the clappers, and I see from latest reports that there are gusts 55-65 knots in western parts of Wales. The cold front has gone through Milford Haven at 1800z, so is still on course to cross my location some time between 1900z and 2000z. I anticipate gusts here to 50-55 knots immediately on the front as the wind veers more westerly and I lose the shelter of the Long Mynd range to my south. I'm off to tie the wheelie bins down! -- Freddie Castle Pulverbatch Shropshire 221m AMSL http://www.hosiene.co.uk/weather/ http://twitter.com/PulverbatchWx for hourly reports |
