The temperature is still 26.3c at 19:40, after peaking at 27.8c at 18:20 BST, this is incredible warmth for Teignmouth on the coast. Looking out to sea at the moment, it's completly calm, and the sea breeze has now died out. http://www.teignmouthweather.co.uk/current.html I went to the local bridge club yesterday evening at 21:30 to deal some boards and when I arrived, the room thermometer was showing 26.9C. I opened some windows and the temperature then went up to 27.1C and stayed there. There was probably some enhancement of the local outside temperatures from the surrounding restaurants but even so, normally, opening windows well after sunset would be expected to have a cooling effect. |
