Default Penzance 21C @ 09:00

With the wind down the spine of the peninsula, today could be very interesting. Already(09:00) 21C in Penzance, 19C on the Island, St. Ives, 20C at Land's End, 19C on St Martin's Scilly. The air's now very stable so sea breezes will have a very limited effect, probably none where the gentle gradient wind is offshore.

When the weather's like this the beaches are a bit like pubs at Xmas, no room for the regulars.

The sea regularly comes over the prom, the potted plants are rather a good way of softening it, they can be moved if necessary.

As with yesterday, the sea breeze has failed and the wind is calm. And
yet, on Saturday the sea breeze blew strongly all day keeping the
temperature pegged back to 23°C. Why one day we get a sea breeze and the
other day we don't remains a mystery to me.

Yesterday's maximum was 28.5C, and with a DP of 18C and no wind, it was
too hot to be out in the sun.

Today is likely to be even hotter. Already 25.1C at 11:21 and a DP of 17C.

SSTs warming up nicely now, reaching 18.8C yesterday afternoon in Lyme Bay.
