on July 16, 2012; the lowest recorded temperature is −67.2 °C (−89.0 °F)

I'm very surprised it ever gets anywhere near freezing up there.
Not only surrounded by all that ice, but at considerable altitude too.

I wonder what temps ocurred on the coast when that was recorded,
20C+ I would imagine.
