Light rain showers early on with wind veering from W to N. Mostly cloudy morning but a clearance to broken cloud and sunshine towards midday. Rather cloudy again from 14.00 local time with a fairly heavy shower of sleet and soft hail a few minutes later - enough to whiten the ground briefly. Sky cleared rapidly with more sunshine by 15.00, but another brief light shower of rain and soft hail just after 17.00. Rather cold, with a moderate N wind and a sharp fall in temperature in the showers.
