Strange - after light snow for a few hours late last night, we now have
rain and the temperature is rising steadily - now at +1.8. Looks like some milder air has been brought in. Wind is still generally light easterly. Wondering what might bring it back down for any chance of snow tomorrow - apart from intensity of rain? http://www.meteosat.co.uk/Porthcawl/trends.htm Cheers James |

I suppose as the pressure falls and the trough extends towards NW France tonight the gradient will back to the SE and although the air will still have a sea track (in the SW) its source will be a cold France rather than a relative warm bay of Biscay. The chances of snow are on a knife edge. Bruce. |

Thanks for that Bruce, the Met Office are very bullish about snow in our area, but the dry bulb has risen even further now to 5.4C so it is going to take a lot to bring that back down, though the dew point has dropped to -2C, so perhaps...
