uk.sci.weather (UK Weather) (uk.sci.weather) For the discussion of daily weather events, chiefly affecting the UK and adjacent parts of Europe, both past and predicted. The discussion is open to all, but contributions on a practical scientific level are encouraged. |

Hi Will,
The Arctic Sea Ice is melting faster than in many previous years but, what has happened to the Antarctic Sea Ice/Cap over the same time period? It's a genuine question, I don't know the answer, rather than trying to coax anyone into a trap. Regards, |

It's a genuine question, I don't know the answer, rather than trying to coax anyone into a trap. The theory that I put forward several years ago was that Antarctic land ice has been melting and lowering temperature and salinity in the Arctic Ocean, thus making formation of sea ice easier in the area. I see the official line seems to be drifting towards that view. Graham |

And again wasn't this the same website that should hideious evidence of this heat wave by showing anyone that would watch, images of street lights that had melted in the ferocious man made Co2 driven heat this summer in Oklahoma. Trouble was of course it wasn't the truth http://dailycaller.com/2012/08/02/du...a-streetlamps/ Turns out it was caused by a dumpster/skip fire. If I'm correct Romm, McGibben and co who shamelessly used this story to promote their political view, never withdrew their claims or apologised for lying or at best getting it so wrong. Back to UKMO: there is an agenda that dominates the hierarchy there, the same agenda that on it's opening home web pages only mentions record low Arctic Ice but consciously fails to mention record breaking levels of Antarctic ice. Of course it is fair to say that before evil humans in their greed released poisonous C02 into the atmosphere, the world climate never changed and was all stable and fluffy. |
